Couple’s Halloween Costumes for 2010

Just like couple’s watches, couple’s Halloween costumes have come to be a rage. However, finding something unique can be challenging. Some people come up with costumes like ‘fork and spoon’, ‘salt and pepper’, ‘salsa and chips’, but these can look quirky and can be uncomfortable to wear. Not only that, they are not as glamorous and romantic as a couples costume should be.

If you and your partner want to wear a couples costume, it is to show yourself off to the world as a couple, to show your bond. That is the reason, I think of romance, glamor and history when I think about couples costumes.

You can look into Prince and Princess costumes. People like to think of romantic relationships as fairy tales, so why not play it out when you can. You can try renaissance costumes, Roman costumes, history is a good place to look for ideas.

Another example is the kind of costumes that are worn by professions who are usually related, like ‘Pilot and Flight Attendant’, ‘Doctor and Nurse’, ‘Boss and Secretary’. You can put your own twist on it by reversing the sexes these costumes are associated with…a Doctor does not always have to be a man and a nurse doesn’t always have to be a woman.

A very unique idea might be to try ethnic costumes of other countries. Like ‘Aladdin and Jasmine’, ‘Indian Prince and Princess’, ‘Spanish matador and his lady’. With US becoming a more and more diverse country, it is easier to find diverse costumes online.

A great idea is to think of classic movies or theater performances that you have liked and dress up as that movie’s Hero or Heroine. Cleopatra, Cold Mountain, Romeo and Juliet.
